Failure point of Tesla model S (3 and a half years owned)

Sponsored links

My EV history is nine years.
I have been driving the Nissan Leaf for five years and Tesla for three and a half years. The total driving distance is about 38,000 km.

Write down the Tesla Model S fault point I experienced so far.

In the tail lamp

Is this a breakdown or quality control? I can not say anything.
I noticed when I first washed the car after delivery.
It is small in the lower left. There was an insect. Did you possibly come from the United States?
After that, this lamp is likely to become cloudy after rain and car wash, so it is likely to be replaced with a countermeasure part. Therefore, when replacing the SIM card reading part to be introduced next, we replaced the whole part here.

Contact failure of SIM card reading parts

I suddenly lost my connection to the internet.
The antenna mark on the 17-inch monitor no longer catches radio waves. (I’m sorry for the bad image)

I got a free repair for parts replacement here.
At this time, I asked, “How much would it cost to switch to LTE?”
The answer is ¥ 66,920 (about $ 650).
The salesperson said,
The driver does not feel that the difference in speed is large after replacement
I personally do not recommend it.
The exchange for LTE has been postponed.

Rain leak from sunroof

Rain leaks from the ceiling of the passenger seat.

It was a heavy rain.

This was a claim coming from other users.
The feeling that said it was a common failure pattern.
Serviceman said,
Because it does not rain in California … (lol)
That’s right.

Rattle of the armrest part

The screw was loose or rattling.
I don’t know if it’s from the beginning or loose while I’m driving.

This has been repaired at the time of the one year check.

Summary

That’s all, but personally I don’t think so important, how is it? I want to make it OK considering the emerging car company, American car. But, well, I can not do such a thing with a car over 10 million yen.

Oh, but Tesla came to pick me up at the time of repair. I also prepared a substitute car. I was grateful here. Since I live in Tokyo, I have a distance to the Yokohama service center. It would be quite expensive to arrange a loading car and a substitute car.

By the way, the Nissan Leaf in front of the model S has never been broken in five years. In addition, RX-7 (FD) before is innumerable. In addition, for vehicles owned by the past (all Japanese vehicles), rain leak from the door trim, abnormal noise when starting the engine due to failure of the engine starter, etc. Although another DS3 I have now is a French car, I get an error message once, but it has been fixed naturally or disappears and there is no breakdown that seems to be a breakdown.

I was lucky
