I greatly remodeled the air purifier I made last time.
The planned modifications are the following 3 points.
1. Boost to 15V and speed up the fan
2. Increase the number of fans to 4
3. Attach the ozone generator
I made all of it once, but I did not adopt 15V after all. The reason is as follows.
・ The fan speed certainly went up for 15V, but four fans 12V was enough
・ I had 12V6A AC adapter
・ I did not want to shorten the life of 15V forcibly because the fan is 12V spec.
・ It was troublesome for the booster circuit to be put on the way
The CAD screen is as follows.
The largest part was 280 mm, so I was planning to make a CR-10S at a stretch. However, parts were divided into four parts because the heat bed was broken at this time.
I tried it once without heating the stage, but the warp was severe. Therefore, I was forced to print smaller in size.
I think 150mm is the limit without stage heating.
Finished product
I purchased 4 fans with LED.
The fan with LED was somehow cheaper than the black fan.
However, the black fan is 320 yen and the LED with fan is about 290 yen difference (the price at the time of purchase).
Perhaps there is a demand for LEDs with a cooling fan for handmade PCs.
The ozone generator was cheap. About 400 yen.
An ozone generator is installed between the filter and the fan.
power consumption
Less than 1A with 4 fans.
Because it is 12V0.25A in the catalog spec, it almost matches.
Ozone generator is about 0.3A.
Although it is lower than the catalog value (8 W or less → 12 V 0.66 A), it is OK because it smells like ozone but it is too much.
It is about 12V × 1A + 12V × 0.3A = 16W in total.
In Tokyo, it will cost less than 7 yen all day long.
Because it is 16W, if it is a mobile battery, the one which comes out more than 3A is necessary.
I gave up on the mobilization of this. And I decided to use an AC adapter.
As AC adapter of small 3D printer was 12V6A specifications, it was just right.
effect?
Well, if I put 4 fans and attached an ozone generator, it had an effect.
I tried garlic chopping and blue cheese. I did not feel the smell.
Honestly, I thought that I did not need the ozone generator.
It might have been necessary if I had a pet.
I ventilate regularly and don’t smoke.
Well, speaking of tobacco, it seems to shorten the life of air purifier filters, right?
Home-made air purifiers may be good for those who smoke.
As filter cost is around 300 yen, we can exchange without hesitation.
Self-made air purifier cost
・ 120mm PC cooling fan → 1200 yen (12$)with 4 pieces
・ Ozone generator → 400 yen (4$)with one
・ filter → 300 yen (3$)
・ Others (cables, switches, connectors etc.) → 300 yen (3$)
・ Resin and electricity cost output by 3D printer → 200 yen (2$)
About 2500 yen (25$)in total
